How to stay protected

We’re rolling out CommBiz NetLock software updates (browser included in the NetLock USB device) and certificate renewals from 16 May 2023.

  • The updates will automatically run once you’ve plugged the NetLock USB device into your computer. Ensure you log on to CommBiz frequently until you have received these updates and installed them.
  • The update could take up to 40 minutes for the browser included in the NetLock USB device, or up to 3 minutes for the security certificate, depending on your network connection.
  • These updates will ensure your device is using the latest software and security to protect you while using CommBiz.

Support

To ensure your device is using the latest software enhancements and security to protect you while using CommBiz. You’re required to install the critical NetLock updates when prompted.

Continue logging into CommBiz daily via the NetLock browser. When you receive the prompt, follow the steps until updates have been successfully installed.

If the update does not progress, check with your IT department to resolve any restrictions on USB enabled updates such as the ability to read/write onto an external USB device on your computer.

Refer above 'What you need to do' and ensure you are aware of the following points:

  1. Log on to CommBiz via the NetLock device browser frequently (at least twice a day) until you have been prompted to install the updates.
  2. Do not eject or unplug the NetLock USB device during the update as this may cause the USB to corrupt.
  3. Speak with your IT Department, if you have one, to ensure your computer or network will allow the update to occur. Your IT department may be able to resolve any restrictions on USB enabled updates such as the ability to read/write onto an external USB device on your computer.

Once the updates have been successful, you need to re-launch CommBiz from the NetLock folder (NetLock.exe) and enter your log on credentials again to use CommBiz as per usual.

The updates can take up to 40 minutes to apply. Please be patient and do not unplug your NetLock device while the updates are installing.

If all updates to NetLock have been successful, you should be able to use the NetLock device to log on to CommBiz as usual by inserting the NetLock USB device and opening the NetLock.exe file, then logging on.

Unplugging your USB during the update may corrupt the device. If you're unable to log on after you've unplugged or ejected your NetLock device, please contact the CommBiz Helpdesk on 13 23 39.
