The Chief Operating Office is responsible for developing and executing the IB&M Strategy. We deliver on strategic projects including benchmark reform, financial crime remediation and credit origination process optimisation. A key aspect of our role is to create the framework for our teams to do what’s right. This means providing due diligence over expenditure and financial reporting, and ensuring appropriate governance for decision making and oversight for reporting to the CEO and the Board. We’re accountable for four IB&M-wide functions:
Strong and long-standing client relationships have always been the foundation of our business. Client Solutions leads these banking relationships and provides transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions across the financing spectrum. We operate in six industry eco-systems:
Global Markets is responsible for the Group’s sales and trading activities within global financial markets. Our team works closely with Client Solutions to help our customers navigate financial risks, manage portfolios and optimise asset performance. We serve our client’s needs across Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Fixed Income and Interest Rate products. With offices in major offshore locations including Europe, Asia and the US, we’re always helping clients to be agile and adapt to changing financial market conditions.
The Non-Financial Risk and Conduct team is responsible for embedding an effective line 1 function covering compliance, regulatory change, financial crime and operational risk to support the management, governance and oversight of non-financial risk in IB&M. We monitor our conduct framework to ensure our peoples’ behaviour and business activities result in fair outcomes for clients and protect market integrity.
Our Career Comeback Program is a paid Program for experienced professionals who’ve taken a career break of two years or more, and are looking to return to the workforce.
Run over 12 weeks, the Program is designed to provide individuals the re-entry support and training they need to thrive.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of our Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) businesses, where your skills and experience will be highly valued and put to use. You’ll have access to a comprehensive induction process, coaching, mentoring and fantastic networking opportunities to support your transition back to work.
At the end of the Program, those who’ve shown their abilities and motivation to succeed may be eligible for a permanent position. Applications for next year's intake are now closed. For all successful candidates the Program will commence in March 2024.
Our Career Transition Program is a paid program for professionals who are seeking a pivot in their career and want to experience a rewarding pathway within Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M). The program is open to individuals with 2-6 years’ professional experience practicing Law, Finance, Accounting, Consulting, Engineering or Mathematics.
Run over 12 months, candidates will join the program at the Senior Associate level and experience 2 x 6 month rotations in a business area aligned to their interests. These placements could span across any of our teams within IB&M.
At the completion of the program, participants will roll off into an ongoing Senior Associate role.
