Application process
Are you ready to kick start your career with us? It’s easier than ever to apply online for roles at CommBank using your laptop or mobile phone. You can apply through our search and apply page.
1. Search
Ready to explore opportunities at CommBank?
- Click on the search and apply now button at the bottom of this page to explore our open roles
- Filter by location, job type and full time or part time roles
- Click through to open the job ad that you’re interested in and read the job description carefully to make sure it’s the right fit
2. Get your resume ready
Your resume is your first opportunity to tell us why you’re right for this role. Make sure to read this article on how to capture your skills and experience in your resume.
3. Apply
- If you’re a new applicant, you’ll need to create a Workday profile to apply
- If you already have a Workday profile, you can sign in and apply with your existing information
- If you’ve forgotten your password you can reset it by clicking the Sign In button on the top right hand side of the Search & apply now page (Please note - not the Log on option on this page)
- A pop up will appear and you can select Forgot password?
- After completing the application, you’ll have the chance to review our Employment Privacy Statement. Please read this carefully before completing your application
- You’ll be able to review a summary of your application before submitting. Once you’ve reviewed your application, click Submit
- Then we’ll assess your application against the job criteria
4. Phone screening
If your application progresses to the next stage one of our Talent Acquisition Partners will call you to discuss your alignment to the role. If you’re a person with disability, this is an opportunity to share with us any accessibility requirements that you may have as a part of the application process, or for the role.
5. Interview(s)
Interviews can happen virtually or face to face with the hiring manager, or other members of the broader team. Depending on the role there may be more than one interview. We’ve partnered with The Candidate Coach to help you shine through your job search journey including the interview process. We recommend you check it out before your interview.
6. Offer & background checks
If you are offered the role, we’ll need to complete a few background checks. It’s part of our commitment to managing risk for Australia’s largest financial institution, and our customers. The checks take at least 3 weeks, but we’ll keep you updated throughout the process. After background checks are complete, we’ll agree on a date for you to start your new role. Congratulations! We can’t wait to have you onboard.

- After
completing your application, you’ll receive a confirmation email. In the
email you’ll be asked if you’d like to complete a short survey about why
you chose to apply for the role. We’d love to hear your thoughts! If you
haven’t received a confirmation email, please check your junk folder
- If
you want to review the progress of your application you can log into your
Candidate Home by clicking the ‘Sign In’ button on the top right hand side
of the ‘Search and Apply now’ page. You’ll see all your
previous applications listed under ‘My Submitted Applications’. Keep an
eye out for an orange exclamation mark next to your previous applications.
If you see one, you’ll have an action to complete for this application.
