Help & support
Digital wallet scams occur when you are contacted, usually by SMS or email, asking for personal information. It may look like it has come from a trusted company such as a bank, telco or government agency tricking you into taking a specific action which includes sharing card and one-time passwords.
It may ask you to click on a link directing you to a scammer’s website that looks like a genuine website or asks you to enter your card details which results in a NetCode being generated. Then you are tricked into sharing this confidential information like a NetCode.
By sharing both your card details and the code, the scammer can enter your card details into a digital wallet on another phone, tablet or watch. This allows the scammer to start spending on your card.
