Car insurance is to provide cover for your vehicle if it is used for private or non-excluded purposes. You must be at least 18 years of age (unless by exception), or the policy can cover vehicles owned by a company, and have an Australian address where the car is ordinarily parked overnight. All policies are subject to Hollard’s underwriting criteria.

You can make a claim 24/7 via the My Claims Portal accessible through Netbank or the CommBank App. Alternatively, call 13 1361.
You’ll receive immediate confirmation once you make a claim and the Claims team will advise you of the next steps.

An excess is an amount you must pay when your claim is accepted and agreed to be paid out.
When an excess applies, you must pay your Basic excess plus any applicable additional excess(es).
All excess amounts will be shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
The difference between these two cover options is that if you drive less than 15,000km a year, you may be eligible for Comprehensive Saver. Subject to Hollard's acceptance criteria, this could mean you're paying a lower annual base premium based off the kilometres you’ve nominated.
The same cover and benefits as Comprehensive will continue to apply.
If you’ve driven over your nominated kilometres, call 13 1361 as soon as possible to apply for an update to review your policy and increase your end kilometres.
An increase may be allowed subject to terms and conditions.3
If at time of a claim, your odometer reading is higher than the end odometer reading that is on your Certificate of Insurance, then you may have to pay an additional excess which is called outside odometer excess.
When applying for insurance, you can insure your car for either market value or agreed value. This indicates how much the car is worth at the time of claim.
Car Insurance does not cover you for driving Uber or other ride sharing services.
The policyholder can call 13 1361 to add more drivers. You’ll need the following information for all drivers:
