Australia faces a growing identity theft problem, with nearly 200,000 victims reported in the 2022-2023 financial year¹, a 25% increase on the year before2.
Once stolen, sensitive identity details often end up on the dark web, where they can be exploited by people to fraudulently access bank accounts or take out credit cards, personal loans, telco contracts or other products in someone else’s name.
The first product of its kind in Australia, Truyu alerts users when their name, date of birth and driver's licence or passport details are being used online at 60% of Australian merchants*. Users can then confirm via the app whether it’s a legitimate use of those credentials.
Built by CommBank’s venture scaling arm, x15ventures, Truyu is currently in pilot and growing fast.

Truyu will also alert you if your registered email address(es) have been exposed in a data breach, providing you proactive guidance to enhance your online security.
Your security is vital, which means the minimal details Truyu require are hashed and encrypted, so no-one else can see them.

Truyu is currently offering a 3 month free trial` for all new customers for the Identity Usage Alerts subscription service, which will alert you when your identity information is used online. After the free trial ends, you can continue to defend your identity for just $4.99 per month.
Additionally, you’ll be able to register up to five emails for data breach alerts, where Truyu will alert you if your information is detected in a data breach.
