Commonwealth Bank will not enforce confidentiality obligations in non-disclosure or other agreements (NDAs) to prevent people from making a submission to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

This waiver only relates to submissions made to the royal commission.

People planning to make a submission on matters covered by an NDA may also need to seek the consent of other individuals or organisations who may be named as part of their submission.

We also note the considerable powers of the royal commission to compel evidence and also provide protection for witnesses and other parties required to produce evidence.
