Mastercard/Visa
Pay using your debit account through the Mastercard/Visa network in Australia and overseas. Payments will show up as pending in your account until fully processed.
eftpos
Select ’eftpos’ to pay using your debit account through the eftpos network. Get cash out when you tap with no pending transactions. Only available in Australia.
Authorise payments using your fingerprint, iris1 or with your PIN.
Which devices are eligible for Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is compatible with all Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 models as well as Gear S2 and S3 smart watches. See the full list of devices.
Which cards are eligible?
You can add your CommBank Debit Mastercard, CommBank World Debit Mastercard™, personal and business credit cards, corporate credit and charge cards and Visa Business Debit card. If you are an additional cardholder, you may add your eligible Commonwealth Bank credit card to Samsung Pay provided it is Mastercard branded. Visa credit cards issued to additional cardholders may be eligible for Samsung Pay, however, a transaction limit of $100 will apply.
What happens if my Samsung device is lost or stolen?
If your device is lost or stolen, you can use Samsung’s Find My Mobile service to remotely lock or wipe your device. This will lock or wipe Samsung Pay as well as your registered cards2. Alternatively, contact us on 13 2221 and we will delete your cards in the Samsung Pay app.
How do I add eftpos to Samsung Pay?
If you've added your CommBank debit card to Samsung Pay and don’t have the eftpos payment option, remove and re-add it to start using the eftpos network. You can then get cash out with no pending transactions when you pay by choosing eftpos.
If you're using Samsung Pay for the first time, or adding a new debit card, the eftpos network will automatically be added to your CommBank debit card.
Can I get cash out using Samsung Pay?
Yes, you can get cash out using Samsung Pay. Simply select the ‘eftpos’ payment option before using your CommBank debit card to make a payment with Samsung Pay. This will update your default payment option for next time you make a purchase.
When making payments using Samsung Pay, your CommBank card number is not stored on your device or shared with merchants. Merchants will only see your Virtual Account Number, which is an alternative to your card number. It’s a way of protecting your card details so they aren’t exposed to anyone other than you.
If you suspect a fraudulent transaction has occurred on your account, please contact us on 13 2221 immediately. When it comes to payment security, CommBank is a leader in fraud protection. So if we identify any unusual activity, you’ll be alerted immediately. And, if the unlikely happens and an unauthorised transaction occurs on your card, we’ll reimburse you 100%.3
