As a founding partner, CommBank has been proudly supporting the Clown Doctors since 1999.
The Humour Foundation provides the Clown Doctors program at no cost to 23 hospitals across Australia and one children’s palliative care facility.
Clown Doctors are medical clowns – highly trained, professional performers who spread ‘doses’ of fun and laughter throughout hospitals, working to uplift thousands of sick kids.
By parodying the hospital routine with jokes, songs, music and play, Clown Doctors engage kids at their bedside - helping them to adapt to hospital life. They work in partnership with medical professionals to divert children during painful procedures, calm and distract in emergency, encourage and assist during occupational therapy and physiotherapy and improve the quality of life of some of the most vulnerable members of our community; sick and injured kids.
In partnership with Tour de Cure, Can4Cancer is an employee driven initiative that engages CommBank staff across Australia to participate in walk, run or ride events to raise vital funds to help cure and prevent cancer.
Can4Cancer has grown each year since its inception in 2014 and over the years we have engaged more than 10,000 CommBank employees and over 30 corporate sponsors to raise more than $11 million to fund game-changing cancer research, support and prevention projects. Over the years we are proud to have supported breakthroughs in pancreatic and breast cancer research.
