Dealing with cancer is tough for anyone, but it can be especially challenging for those in regional areas. Accessing treatment often requires traveling away from home, and local support can be limited. That’s why we have teamed up with Tour de Cure to help make a difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. At each location of the CommBank Tour, we will donate up to $15,000 to organisations supporting local cancer initiatives.³
Find out more about the organisations we are supporting:
Gunnedah Can Assist is a not for profit organisation that is solely run by volunteers raising vital funds to provide direct financial support to those in the local community that have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving treatment. Gunnedah Can Assist is committed to ensuring that all country people within the Gunnedah region have financial support to help them access cancer treatment and care.
Last year, the Foundation helped just under 2,000 patients make it to their critical chemotherapy and radiation treatments on time. This vital cancer patient transport service is one of the Foundation’s largest financial commitments, with costs nearing $250,000 per year. The donation of $10,000 will transport close to 100 cancer patients who normally wouldn’t have made it to life saving treatment.
